Don your rainbow party outfits and take part in the Big Pride Beach Clean – sponsored by Brighton & Hove Pride, and in association with Surfers Against Sewage, Sussex Dolphin Project and WCA – on the beach on Sunday, August 7.
Brighton & Hove Pride say: “Whilst Pride don’t manage or organise events on the beach, we feel we all have a responsibility to keep our city clean, not just on Pride weekend but all year round.
“Our beaches are our city’s crowning glory and we are proud to have partnered with a number of other local community organisations to support and sponsor the second Big Pride Beach Clean to be delivered by Surfers Against Sewage.”

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.
Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
